-Science: Our (last☺) science test over Chapter 2:Heredity and Diversity is tomorrow. Please encourage your child to complete the study guide for 5 extra points!

I hope everyone has stayed warm and enjoyed their extra-long weekend! Here is our weekly update.

 

This Week:

-Friday, January 19th: Geography Bee is rescheduled for 9:30 AM

 

Weekly Skills:

Science: This week we are continuing Chapter 6 Lesson 1: Motion and Lesson 2: Forces and Motion.

 

Looking Ahead:

-Wednesday, February 14th: Valentine Snack and Card Exchange (Not at party)

Weekly Update 12/11-12/15

Good afternoon,
Here is our 2nd to last weekly update for the first semester-time sure does fly!

 

This Week

-Friday, December 15th: Chorus Lion performance at 2:45 PM

 

Weekly Skills:

-Social Studies: Wrap it Up projects are due on Friday.

-Science: This week we are studying Chapter 5 Lesson 4: Chemical Properties. Our test over chapter 5: Matter will be this Friday. Students received a study guide to review for the test, which is due on Thursday.

 

Looking Ahead:

-Tuesday, December 19th: Class Holiday party at 2 PM. Parents are welcomed and I hope to see you there! Our room mom, Asha Hossur, will be coordinating what to bring. Students may wear PJ’s to school :)

-Wednesday, December 20th: Last day of school! Half day for students, full day for staff.

-We are collecting for our class Angel December 4th-December 7th. I have attached a picture of all the Angel Tree info including wants, needs, and sizes. Please bring gifts wrapped and labeled with our Angel’s code (890 B) Thank you in advance for your donations!

-This week we are spending time getting our students ready for the JA Biztown fieldtrip. They have been working very hard and we are excited to see them in action!

-Angel Tree time is here!! Our class is adopting a nine year old girl named Kihadda. I will be sending home information on her wants, needs, and sizes tomorrow so that you can begin your shopping :) We will collect gifts from December 4th through December 7th. Any and all donations are appreciated!!

I hope you had a wonderful weekend! I apologize for my late update-I was out of town yesterday.

 

This Week:

-Wednesday, November 8th: Class Pictures (Please have students wear their green class t-shirts or a similar color)

 

Weekly Skills:

-Social Studies: This week we are wrapping up Chapter 5 with Lessons 4 and 5 (Reconstruction). Our test over Chapter 5 will be next Wednesday. I gave students the study guide today, which will be due on Tuesday. Please encourage your child to work on this study guide throughout the week to prepare for the test. Students will receive 5 bonus point if completed ☺

-Science: Next week we will begin Chapter 5: Matter

-Friday, November 3rd: Author visit from Jerry Pallotta (our time is 10:10-11:00)

 Weekly Skills:

-Social Studies: Battle Map projects are due tomorrow. Students will also have a quiz over the battles we have discussed in class on Friday, the 3rd. They can use the battle sheet we have been working on in class as a study guide. This week we are wrapping up the Civil War with Chapter 5 Lesson 3.

-Science: We will be moving to science shortly-thank you for your understanding in our schedule!

Social Studies: Battle Map projects were assigned today. Please sign the direction rubric and send back with your child tomorrow. This project will be completed at home and is due Tuesday, October 31st. If you have any questions!

Social Studies: Interactive Notebooks are due this Friday, the 29th.

Science: We will cover Chapter 4 Lesson 2: Volcanoes and Lesson 3: Earthquakes. We are doing a lab on Thursday to demonstrate plate tectonics and Earth’s boundaries. If you would like to donate white icing (for cakes), graham crackers, or plastic spoons it would be appreciated!!!

Social Studies: Our Chapter 3 Causes of the Civil War Test is tomorrow, the 19th. Students will lose 5 points if their study guide is incomplete but will receive 5 extra points if it is complete :) 
Science: We finally moving on to our science unit-Chapter 4: Our Dynamic Earth! This week we will cover Chapter 4 Lesson 1: Plate Tectonics

 Science: We are continuing Chapter 3 Space. Our test will be this Friday over Chapter 3 Lessons 1-3. Students are required to complete the study guide for the test by Thursday. 
 
Social Studies: Our region for the week is the Northeast. Students will take their quiz over these 9 states on Friday.
